Happy April to all our stakeholders! Fasset would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge you for the support you have shown us in the previous financial year. We value every intervention, each engagement, each employer and every effort made by our stakeholders towards upskilling and transforming the sector.

We have hosted roundtable discussions with our stakeholders in January where Fasset's new strategy was launched. We now look forward to rolling out #LastingLegacy this financial year, as we believe that together we are adding to that tapestry of learning and skills development.

We wish to share some of our areas of commitment for the 2016/17 financial year:

  1. Deliver on our performance targets as per service level agreement with the Department of Higher and Training;
  2. Engage more with our stakeholders;
  3. Maintain a motivated team spirit at Fasset;
  4. Go green; and
  5. Continue to deliver against our mandate of enabling skills development and driving change and transformation in our sector.
A big thank you to all those that have already submitted the Mandatory Grant, and a reminder to others that the deadline for submission is midnight 30 April 2016.

If you have missed the Budget and Tax Update 2016, you will be pleased to know that we've included a link for you to download the content. The webinar is also available on the website. The Lifelong Learning calendar will be available from 02 May 2016, so register early to avoid disappointment.

Mandatory Grant Reminder

Employers and government departments are reminded that the Mandatory Grant deadline is 30 April 2016. All employers as well as government departments will only be able to submit their grants online. Click here to view the Mandatory Grant Guidelines and Manuals.

In the last issue of eFacts we announced that Fasset will be hosting the Incentives Update workshops. Unfortunately we had to cancel these sessions due to venue unavailability in some of the regions. We will be embarking on an email campaign to constantly appraise you on the pertinent details regarding the submission of the Mandatory Grants.

Lifelong Learning Events

Please note that for this financial year, Fasset will only host three Lifelong Learning events: the Budget and Tax Update, Compliance with Changes in Legislation and the Management & Leadership skills workshop. The events calendar will be available on the Fasset website from 02 May 2016.

Non-levy payers

Non-levy paying employers can register with Fasset and enjoy Seta benefits and incentives such as attending free training events. Click here to download the registration form.
5 Career Guidance

Fasset encourages the sector to join us in empowering the country's youth. The need for career information is much needed by learners in schools.
