We are gearing ourselves up for the final month of the 2017 financial year. There's a wave of excitement and a sense of accomplishment down our corridors as we are planning for the new financial period.

That all important deadline of 15 February 2017 is just around the corner for stakeholders who wish to apply for the various Fasset discretionary grants on offer.

Love is the most wonderful of all feelings in this world. It's Valentine's Day on the 14th February and what could be a better time to let your dear ones know that you love them. On behalf of the Fasset team, I am sending you smiles this Valentine's day.

Enjoy the rest of the February month!

Discretionary Grants

Employers are reminded that the deadline for discretionary grants is 15 February 2017. All small employers (0-49 employees) applying for the Learner Employment Grant (LEG) are reminded that learners needed to have attended one (1) of the two (2) Learner Professional Development (LPD) events. Webinars for the last event are still being held this week and next week. Employers who want to claim the LEG but whose learners have not attended an LPD event, are urged to make use of the webinars.

Mandatory Grant (MG)

The mandatory grant is due on Sunday, 30 April 2017 and the MG system is open for submissions. All of the requirements and online system manuals are on the website. If, as the Skills Development Facilitator (SDF) you do not have the log-in details for your organisation, please contact the Call Centre on 086 101 0001. Please note that the Fasset offices are not open over the deadline weekend.

Fasset Incentives Update - 2017/2018

Work-integrated learning is needed for the TVET learners

Fasset seeks to place learners from public TVET Colleges with employers in the sector for 18 months. These are learners who have successfully completed their theory component (N4, N5 and N6 certificates); and are in need of 18 months practical experience. This practical experience will aid the learners in completing their Diplomas. Fasset will reimburse participating employers for the monthly stipend and travel allowance for each learner.
