Chief Executive Officer

July marks the beginning of a new performance quarter for us and we're energized to implement most of our programmes as guided by the annual performance plan.
We would like to see the Finance and Accounting Services sector transforming through an increase of qualified and trained young individuals; and endeavour to keep finding more ways to make this happen. Should you have any recommendations or queries, please email us at talk2CEO@fasset.org.za
There are a number of Fasset events on offer over the next few months, so be sure to register early to avoid disappointment. The Lifelong Learning calendar of events is now available, our first event is scheduled to start in August 2019.
Another important date to diarise is 26 September 2019; Fasset will be hosting its AGM and Thank-you function. Further details will follow in the August issue of eFacts.
The draft Sector Skills Plan for 2020/21 to 2024/25 is available on the Fasset website for comment. Please send your comments or input to nkensani.mabundza@fasset.org.za. The 2018/19 final Audit by the Audito-General SA is underway; an audit opinion will be issued by the 31 July 2019.
To find out more about what's happening at Fasset, read below, or visit the website: www.fasset.org.za.
The Fasset team extends its best wishes to all writing exams this month.
Kind Regards
Ayanda Mafuleka - CEO |

Fasset Training Incentive Grant
The Fasset team is in the process of finalising the evaluation of all applications received from both Employers in the sector and Fasset registered Professional Bodies. We sincerely apologise for the delays in communicating the outcome to all applicants, the evaluation process took longer than anticipated due to the volumes of applications received. We aim to conclude the process and make payment by 19 July 2019.

Fasset Alumni Call for Volunteers - Pay it forward!
Pay it forward and volunteer your time. We have noticed that more and more matriculants are arriving at University and other institutions of higher learning without Maths as a subject, rather opting for Maths Literacy. This is of great concern to us, as these learners are not be able to enter into the STEM and Finance related qualifications at tertiary level.
We are looking for passionate individuals who want to make a real difference to young people. We are looking for volunteers to help us with disseminating career awareness information. We are calling upon our Alumni to volunteer their time and give career awareness talks at schools, youth centres, churches and communities around you.
If you wish to pledge your support and volunteer, please send an e-mail to vusi.mahlangu@fasset.org.za with Career Awareness Volunteer - (Your Region) as the subject line. The first 10 volunteers to sign up to this worthy cause will earn themselves a Fasset branded lunch bag and a stylish water bottle!
