The end of June marks the end of the first quarter, with many challenges and achievements, the year is truly flying by.

In July, we also celebrate Nelson Mandela's birthday. July 18 has been declared Nelson Mandela Day, but as South Africans we embrace the chance to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s life for the whole of July. This gives everyone the opportunity to heed the call to action for people to recognise their individual power to make an imprint and change the world around them. We urge everyone to contribute 67 minutes of their time to a worthy course.

Fasset, together with the Department of Higher Education and Training will be attending the Nelson Mandela Career Development Festival in Kimberly.

We will be running our first Lifelong Learning workshop in the 2017/2018 financial year: Compliance with Changes in Legislation workshop in September 2017. More information on course content, venue details and how to reserve your seat will be available in August.

We would like to see the Finance and Accounting Services sector transforming through an increase of qualified and trained individuals; and endeavour to keep finding more ways to make this happen.

1 Fasset Alumni - Call for Volunteers

Pay it forward and volunteer your time. We are looking for passionate individuals who want to make a real difference to young people. We are looking for volunteers to help us with disseminating career awareness information. We are calling upon our Alumni to volunteer their time and give career awareness talks at schools, youth centres, churches and communities around you.

Fasset AGM & Thank You Function

Fasset will be hosting its Annual General Meeting & Thank You Function on the 21st September 2017. The AGM & Thank You Function is used to showcase our contribution of pivotal skills as a sector; and report our activities, performance and achievements for the 2016/2017 financial year. Lifelong Learning and Learner Professional Development workshops

Lifelong learning provides training support to employers of all sizes nationally, including rural areas; and content for these training events is tailor made to suit both finance and non-finance professionals in the sector. These training events are well supported by the sector, and Fasset strives to develop training events that are relevant, current and that add value for its members.

4 Invitation to Bid

Fasset is seeking to appoint an experienced event management company to work with Fasset to arrange and implement 8 training programmes for the duration of the SETA financial year (ending 31 March 2018). This training will be attended by approximately 23,000 delegates over South Africa. All 8 training programme will be offered in more than 30 venues in South Africa.
