Benchmarking of Fasset Sector Training Practices
As part of the SETA’s commitment to ensure the usage of SETA
funding has an impact on the lives of learners including
amongst other issues, the reduction of unemployment and
improving the economy and society at large, considerable
funds are set aside every financial year to investigate
sector trends, performance, the success of skills
intervention programmes and the like.
Fasset invests on research to ensure that credible
Human Resource Development (HRD) information is available to
help Fasset contribute to skills development planning; and
to provide credible information and analysis of the supply
and demand for skills, thus informing the skills planning
and delivery processes.
Fasset’s research draws on the expertise and
commitment of nationally recognised research service
providers, industry experts and a wide range of research
partners from institutions of higher learning and
professional bodies. Through these partnerships, Fasset is
able to develop a labour market analysis and monitoring
system that consists of comprehensive sector surveys every
five years, sector skills planning, annual analysis of grant
applications submitted to Fasset, and various ad hoc
research projects.
